To enter the second annual Young Performer monologue competition Into the Spotlight, simply fill in the below form and upload your tape. The theme of this age category is Inspiration - what inspires you for the future? Choose a piece that you feel demonstrates your talent and what the theme means to you.

You could:

• Choose a classic
• Adapt a song
• Choose your favourite poem and turn it into a monologue performance
• Perform a duologue
• You could also do a monologue based on something that inspires you - create something completely new showing your interpretation of the theme

Once we close the form at Thursday 29th August, 5pm (BST), the team will review all our entries and shortlist the final 10 for this age category, from which a winner will be chosen by our brilliant guest judge Lauren Evans. The 10 shortlisted will be announced in September, and the winner of this age category soon after.

The Top 10 shortlisted tapes for this age category will be shared in our member newsletters and will be sent to our casting and agent members. If you are shortlisted and choose not to participate in this, please let us know via marketing@spotlight.com

The winner will receive:

• A year’s membership with Spotlight
• A one-to-one career advice session with a member of the Spotlight Success team
• A package of equipment to elevate your self-tapes, curated by Audio-Visual Specialist Nicholas Peel (worth £100)
• Spotlight goody bag

Rules of entry:

• You must be aged between 13 and 18 to enter
• You must be a current member of Spotlight to enter
• This competition is open to Spotlight members worldwide
• You may enter only one piece per competition
• Your piece should be up to a maximum of 1 minute in length
• Please only submit video footage that you have filmed for the purpose of this competition. Please do not submit footage that is currently being used for any job opportunities that is subject to an NDA or contractual agreement
• If someone else appears in your entry, please specify who you are in the video
• Please do not include copyrighted material in the background of your entry
• Please read all terms and conditions carefully before submitting your entry
• The competition closes on Thursday 29th August, 5pm (BST)

Applying to ‘Into the Spotlight’

By applying to ‘Into the Spotlight’, you consent to your video submission being included on a YouTube playlist and shared on our website, and newsletters. As this is a Young Performer competition, if you choose for your child's video not to be included in any of the above and made public please email us at marketing@spotlight.com.

Please only submit video footage that you have filmed for the purpose of this competition. Please do not submit footage that is currently being used for any job opportunities.

If you are unsuccessful in this round, we will not retain your video footage. We will only retain the footage of the top ten shortlisted entrants. You are welcome to re-apply to any future Young Performer competitions run by Spotlight.

Making the top 10

Your name and photo may be featured on the Spotlight website www.spotlight.com, and in newsletters if you are shortlisted in the Top 10.
